Hi, my name is Janet. I am the co-owner of Saved By The Max and a chef by trade. I studied food, art, and music in college and enjoy cooking French food as well as making craft drinks like cocktails and kombucha on tap! I also love to paint, which has led me to open an art bar with Joseph Monley in 2014.
I grew up in Denver and have lived here my whole life, with the exception of a few years that I spent at university away from home. My parents are restaurateurs, so I grew up watching them work hard to make their businesses successful.
When I was younger, they would take me out to restaurants all over the city and show me what it meant to be part of this industry. As soon as I had enough money saved up for school, my dad suggested culinary school because he wanted me to learn about food on a different level than just eating it every day!

When he had enough experience, she put all his heart into Saved By The Max with the desire to bring all he knows to everyone.
She’s passionate about food and uses it as an educational platform for people of all backgrounds, giving them insight into how other cultures eat around the world while showing them that cooking doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming!
A perfect day for her involves visiting new restaurants and meeting people who share her passion for food – whether it’s talking shop or sampling dishes together!
Matt Cowan is a bartender at Saved By The Max. He graduated from Arizona State University and has been bartending for about 20 years now, starting when he was just thirteen!
He’s had plenty of experience in the industry, working as a bartender at Hake Kitchen Bar and Cat Eye Club before coming to work here.
In addition to his knowledge of cocktails, Matt also has expertise in American cuisine, Italian dishes, French preparation styles, and cooking utensils.
In 2016 he came to Saved By The Max where he shared his knowledge of cooking – this overwhelmed us! With his skills, he also helped make our bar more interesting by adding ingredients like fruit syrups…
She is the one who has been with Saved By The Max since its inception. In the first days of coming here, she worked as a waitress, then through the process of working and learning more specialized knowledge, she is now an events manager.
