The pan in which it is baked gives the pizza its characteristically high edge which provides ample space for large amounts of cheese and a chunky tomato sauce. The first known use of the term “deep dish” in relation to pizza was in 1957, when Edward Joseph DePretis, founder of Pizzeria Uno, and Rudy Malnati, Sr., an employee there since 1943, used the phrase to describe their creation.

The term “Sicilian pizza” was first used in the United States in the late 19th century, to distinguish the variation from the Neapolitan type of pizza being made at the time. Today, it can be found across the island (and throughout Italy), but it is also very popular in Italian-American cuisine Sicilian pizza is a style developed in Sicily, Italy. Traditional Sicilian pizza is often thick crusted and rectangular, but also round and similar to a deep dish or Chicago-style pizza; it has an airy, spongy texture due to being baked in a pan with holes similar to a sheet pan.

Greek Pizza

Greek pizza, also known as Detroit-style pizza, has a crispy crust that’s slightly charred from the oven. It is topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and toppings. Since it’s square, you don’t need to worry about cutting it into slices. This makes it an ideal pizza for parties or large gatherings. Greek pizza is typically cooked in a well-oiled pan to give the crust its signature crispiness. It’s also made with a special type of cheese that melts perfectly when baked in the oven.

Greek

After baking the Greek pizza, it is often garnished with fresh basil leaves or parmesan cheese to finish off the dish. The Greek pizzas typically have a thin crust and are made with dough that has been rolled out very thin then cut into squares or rectangles before being baked in an oiled pan until crispy on top and bottom. They’re usually topped with olive oil, tomatoes and feta cheese but can also include other ingredients like peppers, olives and onions if desired. The sauces used for these pizzas vary widely depending on what region they’re from: tomato basil marinara sauce (commonly called “marinara sauce” outside of Italy) or just plain old red sauce will do just fine!

California Style Pizza

St. Louis

This type of cheese gives the pizza a unique flavor that makes it stand out from other pizzas. The best thing about this pizza is that it can be served with some of your favorite toppings and sauces on top of it. The main reason why people love this type of pizza is because it has a distinct taste that makes it stand out from all other types of pizza.

In Roman pizzerias, you’ll find pizza al taglio (pizza by the slice), which is sold on large rectangular trays and cut to order. Cuban

Cuban pizza (Spanish: pizza Cubana) is a variation of the Margherita pizza that originated in Cuba and is popular in Latin America. The name derives from the fact that it involves a large number of ingredients on top of the pizza, like a “Cuban sandwich”, often including salami and/or sausage. The exact origins of Cuban pizza are unknown, but it is believed to have been introduced by Italian immigrants from Naples to Cuba and then spread throughout Latin America.

Quad City Pizza

Quad City

Quad City-style pizza is unique to the Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa. This style closely resembles a deep-dish pizza, with a crust that is slightly thicker than the more popular Chicago style. The “Quad Cities” refers to the Illinois cities of Moline, Rock Island and East Moline, and the Iowa cities of Davenport and Bettendorf. Quad City-style pizza has a yeast-leavened dough that is rolled out thinly, then baked in a well-oiled pan until the crust rises and becomes crispy on the edges. The toppings are loaded on top of the cheese, which sometimes comes in large curd form. The pizza is then baked uncovered. Bagel Pizza

The Bagel Pizza is a great alternative to regular pizza, it has a different flavor and texture than traditional pizza. Bagel-style pizzas are becoming more popular in NYC and other parts of the country. This is a very quick and easy way to make your own bagel pizza at home. CONCLUSION

So, I have been wanting to talk about types of pizza for a while on Saved By The Max. It is my favorite food after all. I do not remember how old a child it was that I discovered how good pizza was. I also do not remember when exactly it became an obsession of mine however, suffice to say that it has been well over 5 years. The best part about pizza is its versatility. There are so many different combinations of toppings, crusts, and bread that you can use to make so many different types of pies. Every region tends to put its own spin on pizzas as well.
